I hear the angels calling loud
keep in the middle of the road
They're gathered in a great big crowd
keep in the middle of the road
They stand in front of a big old gate
keep in the middle of the road
Travel on before it gets too late
keep in the middle of the road
Keep in the middle of the road, keep in the middle of the road
I won't look to the right, won't look to the left
I'm gonna keep in the middle of the road.
The demons reach with their perfect limbs
keep in the middle of the road
You can hear their backward hymns
keep in the middle of the road
Sacrilegious, so full of hate
keep in the middle of the road
Travel on before it gets too late
keep in the middle of the road
I ain't got time to sit around and talk
keep in the middle of the road
The road is long and it's hard to walk
keep in the middle of the road
Ain't got time to stand around and wait
keep in the middle of the road
I'm gonna travel on, won't hesitate
keep in the middle of the road
Come and join our weary band
keep in the middle of the road
We're on the search for a new land
keep in the middle of the road
You'll never get this chance again
keep in the middle of the road
Turn your back on this world, my friend
keep in the middle of the road

The Last Line's Repeated
04:16
|
|||
It stretches into the future.
It stretches into an ocean.
It stretches into the feeling of being still
even though you know you're in motion.
But if you could just see it
In just the right light
You wouldn't be so quick to leave it
In some stranger's hands tonight.
And I see it.
It's my curse.
Can't believe it
A kind of the worst.
And the feelings that you had, you had them for a while.
And the dreams that you had, you put them in a pile.
And the days you felt sad you still put on that smile.
In some ways you were glad to finally put away my file.
Crushing
My throat
With the weight
Of perception.
It stretches into tomorrow.
It stretches into a river.
It stretches into an alternate ending
to a letter that I hand deliver.
But if you could just read it,
or give it a cursory glance,
You'll notice the last line's repeated
It needed a second chance.

My Old Jacket
03:31
|
|||
My old jacket is too small for me.
I guess some things just get outgrown.
My wrists stick out and they're getting cold.
I'll put my hands into my pockets.
Now you can't grab and take a hold.
I'm a little too far out of reach.
You say you wanna do something new,
well maybe I can help you out.
Ill put you on top of my shelf.
Every now and then I can take you down.
You say you wanna be somewhere else,
How about over here on my nightstand?
I stick my arms into something new,
and I must admit this looks much better.
Something just doesn't feel the same.
I don't like how it sits about the waist.
I've worn this one time and time again,
and every time it feels brand new.
My old jacket is too small for me.
Its threadbare and barely keeps me warm,
but i can't help but to reach for it
every time I hear the storm.

Run and Hide
02:40
|
|||
You've forgotten what I told you
about the creature with claws big enough to hold you.
I've seen him with my own two eyes
and I have felt the rumble of the earth when he flies.
Wings spread wide, watch your head
or when the morning comes you'll count yourself among the dead.
You've forgotten about the legend,
the souls of the little girls who have been beheaded.
At dusk it is his dinnertime,
he's already gotten yours, and now he's getting mine.
Run and Hide, listen to what I said,
or when the morning comes you'll count yourself among the dead.
Full Moon, The Howling Man
Full Moon, Keep the Devil locked away.
You've forgotten that I told you
I'm the creature with claws big enough to hold you.
Im getting hungry, it's time to feast,
so come on over, honey, get the Mark of the Beast.
Wings spread wide, watch your head
or when the morning comes you'll count yourself among the dead.
Full Moon, The Howling Man
Full Moon, Keep the Devil locked away.
Full Moon, The Howling Man
Keep the Devil locked away.
You've seen the truth, keep a staff in hand
You can hear the man howl all day.
It's just the wind you tell yourself
I mean what are you supposed you say?
It's too much you can't take it now
You gotta let him out today.
Full Moon, The Howling Man
Full Moon, Keep the Devil locked away

Close the backdoor, gently as I can
I'll slip out, you'll never see me again.
I'm gone
I'll take some for myself,
Not too much, every little bit helps.
I'm gone
Electric letters can't be burned.
I know better, but you never learned.
I'm gone
You'll hear it every time it rains.
Every drop hissing out my name.
I'm gone
I really wish you well, so long now.
